Gongguan Township, a river plain area surrounded by mountains and rice fields, offers lush greenery in view. With agriculture as its main industry, Gongguan gets to maintain rustic style of Hakka village. It is known for producing jujubes, taro, rice, and Hakka pickles (Fu Chai). Other than enjoying the idyllic scenery and experiencing some farming activities, you can also visit Miaoli Ceramics Museum and Taiwan Oil Field Exhibition Hall which introduces the glory of Asia’s first oil well.
